10412 Coil Axis 3 M92-2400 Robotics Water jet and Coils

Item number: 10412

Details: Robotic Waterjet parts Coil 10412 used on ABB IRB 2400 Axis 3 robot waterjet cutting system

Replacement robotic water jet coils are made in house and ship SAME DAY they are ordered. Each coil is:
  • Made from 66K PSI or 100K PSI Tubing

  • Pre-Coned and Threaded

  • Flushed under High Pressure prior to ship

With over 20 years of experience, WINWIN Waterjet has a large archive of coil drawings including:

  • ABB,FANUC,YASKAWA,KUKA Coils

  • Shape Process Automation (DRS, KMT, RPT) Coils

  • Flow Robotics Coils

  • And More

How does a water jet pump work?

A water jet pump, commonly known as a water jet ejector or a jet pump, is a device that utilizes the principle of fluid dynamics to pump or move fluids, typically liquid. It operates based on the Venturi effect, where the velocity of a fluid increases and its pressure decreases as it passes through a constricted section of a pipe. Water jet pumps are simple and often used for applications like fluid transfer, lifting water from wells, and creating a vacuum.

Here’s how a water jet pump works:

Inlet Water: The process begins with an inlet, where a high-pressure fluid source, such as a pressurized water supply, is connected. This inlet water is often referred to as the “motive fluid” or “driving fluid.”

Nozzle or Throat: In the water jet pump, the motive fluid passes through a nozzle or a throat, which is a constricted section of the pump. As the fluid passes through this narrow point, its velocity increases, and its pressure decreases. This is due to the principle of fluid dynamics known as the Venturi effect.

Suction Inlet: Connected to the throat of the nozzle is another inlet called the “suction inlet” or “entrainment inlet.” This is where the fluid to be pumped or moved (the “suction fluid”) is drawn into the system.

Mixture Zone: The motive fluid and the suction fluid mix in a mixture zone, typically inside the pump’s body or casing.

Momentum Transfer: As the high-velocity motive fluid and the low-velocity suction fluid mix, they exchange momentum. The high-velocity motive fluid imparts its momentum to the low-velocity suction fluid.

Outlet: The mixture of fluids is then directed to an outlet. The energy transfer and momentum from the motive fluid effectively create a low-pressure region in the suction inlet, which allows the suction fluid to be drawn into the pump.

Water jet pumps rely on this exchange of momentum to move or pump fluids. They are often used for applications such as pumping water from wells, creating a vacuum in various processes, and even in jet propulsion for some water-based vehicles.

It’s important to note that water jet pumps are typically not as efficient as other types of pumps for high-pressure or high-flow applications, but they are simple, reliable, and do not require external power sources.
